Overview
Entasis Partners is supporting a Consultancy in scaling out their architecture capability with a focus on financial services clients, and we are looking for several IT Architects with experience across core banking and/or capital markets.
This is a hands-on, client-facing role where you’ll operate at the intersection of business strategy and deep technical delivery, playing a pivotal role in designing future-fit architecture models across critical systems and processes.
We're looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can cut through complexity, and is comfortable coaching teams and influencing senior stakeholders. You'll be contributing to transformational technology change across trading platforms, cloud ecosystems, and scalable architectures, with the opportunity to shape outcomes that are both strategic and technical.
Key Responsibilities of an IT Architect
- Define and deliver architecture solutions that support complex trading environments, core banking platforms, and digital transformation programmes.
- Evaluate and guide client technology teams across enterprise architecture best practices and technology strategy alignment.
- Lead the design and implementation of scalable, resilient, and secure solutions, with a focus on performance, compliance, and operational excellence.
- Work closely with business and IT leaders to ensure architecture supports evolving regulatory, product, and operational demands.
- Build roadmaps and blueprints across application, data, infrastructure, and integration layers – aligned to both capital markets and core banking domains.
- Provide architecture leadership across key banking processes including customer onboarding, payments, lending, deposits, and data management.
- Contribute domain expertise across the trade lifecycle (execution, settlement, post-trade), or end-to-end retail/commercial banking operations.
- Mentor and coach cross-functional teams – acting as a trusted advisor while ensuring pragmatic, fit-for-purpose design choices.
Core Skills & Experience of an IT Architect
- 5–10 years of architecture experience gained within consulting, banking, or capital markets environments.
- Proven track record designing and delivering enterprise-scale architectures across trading systems, core banking platforms, or financial data ecosystems.
- Hands-on experience with platforms such as Murex, Calypso, OpenLink, Bloomberg, Temenos T24, Finacle, Mambu, FIS Profile, or Avaloq.
- Deep domain understanding in either capital markets (e.g. trading, settlement, derivatives, FX, commodities) or core banking (e.g. onboarding, payments, lending, deposits, regulatory reporting).
- Strong capability across modern architecture patterns including microservices, containers (Docker, Kubernetes), messaging/event-streaming (Kafka, RabbitMQ), and APIs (REST, SOAP).
- Practical experience designing cloud-native solutions, particularly in high-performance or large-scale environments.
- Familiarity with modernising legacy platforms and integrating new technologies within regulated financial landscapes.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills – able to operate at both strategic and technical levels.
